“The tactility of functional ceramic objects is an important aspect of my work. I aspire to create works that are enjoyable to touch, hold and use. My work is influenced by the Bauhaus style which focuses on a harmonization between form and function. I use the process of hand throwing to create simple shapes that I then manipulate to produce functional objects. By using stoneware clay bodies and minimal colour in my glazes, the form is accentuated and becomes the central focus in my work.”
